Dr. Mireille Dekker
Dr. Mireille Dekker is a researcher in infection prevention at Amsterdam UMC and co-chair of the Amsterdam Center for Implementation Science (AmsCIS). She holds a degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Amsterdam and obtained her PhD at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on the implementation of the infection prevention link nurse role in hospitals.
Together with Dr. Rosa van Mansfeld, she founded the Infection Prevention Implementation Research Group. She now co-leads this group, supervising multiple projects and junior researchers and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations in the field of infection prevention and implementation science.
Within AmsCIS, Dr. Dekker co-developed and coordinates the postgraduate curriculum in implementation science, which trains healthcare professionals and researchers in this field. As co-chair, she contributes to shaping the centre’s education, research and collaboration agenda.
Within MERIT, Dr. Dekker will serve as co-supervisor for the doctoral candidate focusing on tailored implementation to strengthen EU biosafety and biosecurity.
